At the dental check up your dental professional will check for cavities. X-rays might be taken to detect cavities between your teeth. The exam will also include a check for plaque and tartar on your teeth. Plaque is a clear, sticky layer of bacteria. If it is not removed, it can harden and become tartar. You cannot remove tartar with brushing and flossing. If plaque and tartar build up on your teeth, they can cause oral diseases.
Next, your gums will be checked. This will be done with a special tool to measure the depth of the spaces between your teeth and gums. With healthy gums, the spaces are shallow. When people have gum disease, the spaces may become deeper.
The check-up should also include a careful examination of your tongue, throat, face, head, and neck. This is to look for any signs of trouble – swelling, redness, or possible signs of cancer.
Restorative Dentistry
A dental restoration is needed to correct the loss of tooth structure caused by tooth decay or injuries. They repair teeth that are cracked, chipped, broken or affected by cavities. Xray Facility
We have both Intra oral xray and OPG machine ready to be use at all times. Dentists use radiographs for many reasons: to find hidden dental structures, malignant or benign masses, bone loss, and cavities. The dosage of X-ray radiation received by a dental patient is typically very small, so do not worry.
Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening can be a highly effective way of lightening the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces. It cannot make a complete colour change but it will lighten the existing shade. Tooth whitening is ideal for people who have unrestored teeth (no fillings) and healthy gums. Individuals with yellow tones to their teeth respond best. It is usually done to treat the problem of intrinsic staining such as staining caused by consumption of tetracycline below 12 years old.
